How we rate

Every list on DramaLobby is ranked by one question: how hard does the first episode hook you?

The hook score

When we watch a series, we give its first episode a hook score from 0 to 100: how quickly it sets up the conflict, whether the cliffhanger makes you tap the next episode, and how much story it promises. Lists are ordered from the highest score down.

Reviews

Some series also get a full review, written by our editor right after finishing them: a one-line verdict, a score out of 100 and six answers — where it hooked the editor, what makes it different, who carries it, what it could lose, where it drops and who it is for. A review score is one person’s opinion, not an average of user votes. The series the editor names as most alike come first under “If you liked this one”.

New arrivals

New series join the catalog before we have scored them. Until then they are ordered by how recently they arrived on their app, newest first, and they move up or down once they are scored.

Genres

Each series is filed under up to three genres, from billionaire romance to werewolves, based on what its story is about. The genre pages list every series in that genre, ranked the same way.

What the scores are not

Neither score has anything to do with money. Affiliate commissions never change which series we list or the order they appear in.
